Yellow Bridge Brewing Makes A Beer With Uber

Yellow Bridge Brewing (Delmont) has collaborated with Uber Hue in Pittsburgh to create a one of a kind beer! YBB was matched with Uber Hue by BlackBrewCulture, the owners of Fresh Fest.

UberHue’s “goal is to provide a channel that promotes Black diversity, culture, and inclusion for all employees at Uber”.

“Blerd Future”, a raspberry ginger sour ale, was made with a berlinner weisse malt bill with minimal hop additions. 90lbs of rasberry puree was added, and then they added another 6lbs of shredded ginger.

Yellow Bridge expects 5.5-6 bbls of this beer, and will be available for the first time Thursday, August 8th on draft and in cans. This will also be pouring at the upcoming Fresh Fest beer festival in Pittsburgh.

“It was great to work with the Uber Hue group, learn a bit about their organization, and make a really unique brew with them.” – Ian Staab, Co-Owner of Yellow Bridge Brewing

Uber commented the following on the collab:
“Working in technology we often find ourselves in spaces and identities that lack diverse representation. An identity that has, in the past, rarely held room for black representation is that of the nerd. To us, the word “blerd” provides acknowledgement and celebration of black individuals who identify with a passion for technological or academic pursuits. “Blerd Future” implies that as we move forward in time the “blerd” will continue to be present. “Enter the Blerdverse” is meant to welcome others into the experiences and pursuits of our group to build space for the blerd within technology well into the future.”
