Tröegs Brewing Expected To Release “Double Nugget Nectar” Thursday January 21st

A majority of the time when we have reported on Tröegs, we always share a similar personal sentiment. And that is that despite being one of the most historic brands in Pennsylvania craft beer the brewery is continuously innovating.

In our opinion, sales from Mad Elf year over year could easily keep the brewery as one of the tops in the state. Yet, none the less, they continue to offer new and exciting beer for consumers to enjoy.

It is in that spirit that the brewery has plans to introduce a new offering for 2021 in “Double Nugget Nectar”. News of the project was first teased by the brewery over social media back in December of 2020. You can see the teaser announcement below.

This beer, clocking in at 9.5% ABV, is a jacked-up version of their ever-popular Nugget Nectar. A beer the brewery refers to as a super-fresh hop blended Imperial Amber Ale. An excessively dry-hopped explosion of pine, resin and mango.

Beer Release Update:

The brewery has confirmed the following regarding the release of this beer:

“We have indeed taken Nugget Nectar and pushed it into Double Nugget territory. The first swing at it was on our 3-barrel Scratch Lab, and now we’ve ramped it up for a small-batch can release. Starting Thursday, Jan 21, Double Nugget will be available in 16-oz. cans from our General Store and on draft in our Tasting Room. It won’t make it beyond our brewery this year, but if people love it, that could certainly change down the road.”
