Salmon Pants Brewery is scheduled to close their Allentown tap room in the end of July 2019. As they recently announced the owners of the brewery sold the brand with the intention to pursue a distribution only model.

As we mentioned above the goal is for the new owners to go into distribution. “We sold the name and there is a group of guys that want to start a brewery so we will help them get started but they will go straight into distribution… The tap room we have will shut down” Jonathan Rotger co-owner of Salmon Pants said to one commenter.

Our thoughts in regards to what is taking place; it appears that a prospective commercial brewer is using the Salmon Pants brand as a way to get into the industry. We haven’t spoken to anyone with knowledge on this, but the situation looks as if another entity will use the brand for their license to distribute as well as brand equity to get to market that much quicker.
