Pennsylvania Loophole 3.0: A Collaboration With PA’s Smallest Breweries

In September of 2020, we brought you the exciting news of a statewide collab; Pennsylvania Loophole. A beer that was released to allow some of the smaller breweries across the state to take advantage of a “loophole” when it comes to beer releases. A loophole that allows breweries to collaborate for canned beer options.

In November 2020, Breweries In PA, East End Brewing, and a large list of other PA breweries released the second version of this beer.

Now, we are pleased to announce the next version of Pennsylvania Loophole. Breweries In PA, along with East End Brewing, and many other PA breweries are releasing the third version of this beer (see the full list of breweries below).

Pennsylvania Loophole 3.0 is a crisp 4.8% Pilsner, brewed with Weyermann Pils malt, Hallertau Blanc, and Huell Melon hops and fermented with a pitch of the Pilsner Urquell strain.

“This is the best way we can think of to help drive some revenue for the smaller breweries in our state, ones that maybe don’t have the ability to package their beer in cans.” – Scott Smith, Owner of East End Brewing Company

Like the original version, this collaboration beer was brewed at East End Brewing and will be packaged in 16oz cans under the name Pennsylvania Loophole, and then be sold by each participating brewery.

The beer will be released at the following breweries all over the state starting the week of January 18th:

Bloom Brew
Boneshire Brew Works
Boxcar Brew Works
Deer Creek Malthouse
Hemauer Brewing
Lincoln Avenue Brewing
Mondays Brewing
Round Guys Brewing
Selin’s Grove Brewing
− AND MANY MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!

If you’re a craft beer drinker who wants to support this project, plan on picking up some of this beer from your local participating small brewery when it is ready for release!

If you’re a PA brewery interested in carrying this beer, YOU CAN! Just contact [email protected].
