Nugget Nectar from Troegs Independent Brewing is a 7.5% ABV/93 IBU Imperial amber ale. Once a year, when the newest, super-fresh hops arrive at Troegs, Nugget Nectar is made.
Utilizing just picked hops, Nugget Nectar is made with Nugget, Palisade, Simcoe, Tomahawk, and Warrior. This beer is excessively dry hopped with Nugget, so make sure hops are your thing!
Pouring to an orange/amber color with a bright white head, you will notice some slight lacing in your glass. Smells of fruit and citrus hops dominate your nostrils with aromas of malts and a touch of caramel.
Tasting this, you will notice it is pleasantly balanced up front, with a mild hoppy punch at the backend. Smooth for 7.5%, none of the hops or malts are overpowering each other. Due to this, you could have a few in a row. Flavors of grapefruit citrus, mango, pine, resin, some caramel, and malts are all very up front when you take the first sip.
