No, The Latest Mandate Does Not Cancel All Alcohol Sales On Thanksgiving Eve

What we have learned from many of these shutdown announcements is that if you take a step back and let the dust settle you can still find ways to support the businesses being impacted. And that is exactly what we are here to do in regards to the latest announcement.

As you may know, Governor Wolf recently came out with a mandate that onsite consumption of alcohol is banned in PA starting at 5:00 PM from Wednesday, November 25th to 8:00 AM Thursday, November 26th.

The knee jerk reaction to this is that you can’t buy alcohol from your local establishment during those times. Which is NOT TRUE. It just means you cannot drink said alcohol at those establishments during those times. I.E. on-site consumption.

However, you can still dine in. So please do not look at this as a reason to scrap your plans for Wednesday night. Thankfully breweries have many options for to-go sales.  If your local brewery offers crowler, growler or cans sales you can still visit them as planned and buy their beer to take home with you.

It’s not solving every brewery’s issues. But please do not treat this announcement as “well, no reason to go out Wednesday night”
