Recently there were rumors swirling around PA beer circles, primarily due to our wildly popular Breweries In PA Facebook Group, that New Trail Brewing was closing. This rumor was the result of a meme that was created and posted in the group as a joke by one user. (The said post has since been deleted due to all the confusion….don’t believe everything you read on the internet kids).

We are here to tell you the rumor was exactly that, a false rumor. Honestly, we cannot even believe we are typing this considering the brewery recently expanded its distribution footprint even further by launching into Pittsburgh. But, you know how these things can go. One person puts it out there on the line, and the next thing you know it spreads like wildfire.

In fact, the meme in our group made the rounds so well that we approached the brewery about it.

We recently spoke with New Trail owner and head brewer Mike LaRosa to clear the air, and he had the following to say:

“We are flattered that someone went through the effort to create such an elaborate joke regarding the closure of our business. Rest assured, New Trail is alive and well. While we found the content of the joke to be humorous and well thought out, we were surprised at how many people were quick to believe the content which was clearly fake. I would hope that people refrain from posting such false information. It was alarming and heartwarming how many e-mail’s, phone calls, stop-ins, and comments of support and questions we got as to whether or not the rumor was true. Something like that for another business could be much more damaging and permanent. We can’t thank our many Pennsylvania based fans enough, for not allowing us to close. We just know that at least there is always money in the banana stand…” – Mike LaRosa, Owner/Head Brewer, New Trail Brewing

New Trail is even releasing one of their most sought after beers Wednesday 12/2 at the taproom, with distribution starting this week as well. Goggles is a hazy DIPA focused on some of New Trail’s favorite hops, Galaxy and Citra.

In conclusion, we are here to make sure you are aware that New Trail is doing well. Hell, they even upgraded their delivery vehicles due to all the distribution volume. They are very appreciative of all their beer fans, and will continue to grow and put out delicious beer in 2021 and many years to come!
