Hofbrauhaus In Pittsburgh Accused Of Racism During Barrel & Flow Festival

Over the past weekend, the Barrel And Flow Festival was held at SouthSide Works in Pittsburgh. The festival, which was rebranded from Fresh Fest (a top awarded festival in the coutry), aims to celebrate black art and black artists through craft beer and other artistic means.

The festival is held to “express and share how collective art is greater together than the sum of their individual parts. Through the barrel flows this collective creativity of music, visual art, and culinary art. Our collaborations and aims of economic empowerment for the Black community continue, just as significant and necessary as ever, with global aspirations and national amplifications.”

In a now-public social media post, the event organizers shared that during the 2021 event the General Manager from a local brewery had harassed and hurled racist offenses at event-goers. Vincent Quinzio, Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh General Manager, is specifically named by the event organizers.

You can see the full post from the festival’s Facebook page about the incident below.

As of this writing, Hofbrauhaus has not publicly shared their plans moving forward. We reached out to the brewery with no immediate response. As more information is made available we will continue to update.
