Grand Opening: Simple Days Beer November 20th (East Greenville)

The beer scene in Montgomery County (and Pennsylvania) is growing as Simple Days Beer will be opening its doors in East Greenville, PA at 226 Main St, East Greenville. The brewery will officially open for business starting Friday, November 20th selling crowlers to go for the first few weeks.

We recently spoke with the owner and head brewer Chris Hink to understand more about the story behind the brewery, and the details on what beer fans can expect when they open.

The story behind the business begins with the name. After a hectic day and many hours of brainstorming, Chris sat down and wrote the first name that came to mind; Simple Days. The motivation behind the name was simple; he knows we all have busy and frantic days that sometimes you just want to stop what you are doing and enjoy a beer, and make it a “Simple Day”.

Chris’ story in the beer scene began as many others in the industry; an interest in homebrewing that eventually snowballed into the idea of opening his own commercial location. Soon after completing the University of Sciences beer program, he took on a job at another Montgomery County local; Blueprint Brewing. It’s there where Chris would learn the inner workings of taking the step from homebrewer to professional craft brewer.

With the experience he gained from the academic and real-world training he decided it was time to step into ownership himself, and Simple Days was born. Chris will not go it alone though, as he will be joined by family members in both the operation and brewing side of the business. Making Simple Days, a true family experience for all to enjoy.

Simple Days will operate a 3.5 bbl system with four 3 bbl ferments and two 3 bbl brite tanks, which have all been custom designed. The space will offer an eight tap draft system with no kitchen, but as with many other locations plenty of food trucks will be available.

As we mentioned, Simple Days will not immediately open for onsite consumption, but starting on November 20th will have crowlers to go. You can stop by that day anytime between 4:00 – 6:00 PM. The list of beers expected during the first weekend are as follows:

  1. Golden Ale: Simple Days Golden Ale is a very approachable, easy-drinking, and simply refreshing with an ABV 4.2%.  Produced to be well balanced between the malt and hop characteristics, our Golden Ale embodies the idea of simplicity so anyone can enjoy year-round.
  2. Saison: Simple Days Saison is light, refreshing, highly carbonated, and golden in color.  Fermented at high temperatures using a traditional Belgian Saison yeast strain, this beer is a true definition of what a Saison is all about.  Whether it is the summer or the middle of winter, this is a beer you will want to enjoy every day.  ABV 5.5%.
  3. Wheat: Simple Days Wheat is light golden in color, very approachable, and highly refreshing.  We brewed this beer with traditional top-fermented ale yeast in order to keep to traditions and to produce a clean, crisp, refreshing taste.  ABV 4.6%
