The Butler County Beer Circuit, a self-guided tour of local breweries, is welcoming two new stops along the trail, Conny Creek Brewing Co. (Saxonburg) and Union Brothers Brewing (Harmony). These additions now bring the total to 13 breweries along the Beer Circuit.
The Butler County Beer Circuit gives visitors the opportunity to experience a variety of breweries within Butler County by filling up their Passport to Hoppiness. Those participating will take their card to the brewpubs listed, receive a stamp at each location and move on to the next brewpub at their leisure. Once the card is complete, participants can bring it to the Tourism Bureau to claim a specialty mug and more for completing the Butler County Beer Circuit. The Bureau’s office is located at 310 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Passports can be picked up at participating breweries, the Tourism Bureau, or any of the Bureau’s 35 brochure racks throughout the county.
Participating Brew Pubs include Burgh’ers Brewing, Butler Brew Works, Cellar Works Brewing Co., Dented Keg, Missing Links Brewery, North Country Brewing Co., On the Point Brewing, Reclamation Brewing Company, Recon Brewing, ShuBrew: Handcrafted Ales & Food, Stick City Brewing Company, and newly added Conny Creek Brewing Co and Union Brothers Brewing. Local canning facilities are also featured: North Country Canning Co. and ShuBrewery.
Several Butler County breweries work with local farms to source ingredients for their beers. CNC Malting Company supplies malt and Freedom Farms provides produce. These locally grown ingredients are fundamental in beer making and represent the true flavor of Pennsylvania; making craft beverages even more special.
Other new additions to the Beer Circuit include a second location for Recon Brewing in Cranberry Township. The new location, Recon Brewing at Meeder, is slated to open this spring and is housed in the Charter Homes community, Meeder.
Cellar Works Brewing Co. will be adding a second location estimated to open by mid year of 2021. The new location will be just two minutes up the road in the former, Cooper Station Restaurant in Sarver. As Cellar Works transitions to the new building, the current location will remain a production facility until the new brewery is renovated on the new property.
“This program is designed to highlight our local breweries and let people know about the great craft beers in Butler County,” said Jack Cohen, President of Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau.
“We’re in it because it’s work that we love, and it’s a product that we want to showcase and let people enjoy,” said Zachary Shumaker, owner of ShuBrew.
