Attic Brewing Opening In Germantown Neighborhood Of Philadelphia

The beer scene in the city of brotherly love continues to grow with the future opening of Attic Brewing in the Germantown neighborhood at 137 W. Berkley St. The brewery is opening in what once was a former pencil manufacturing company which will be adjoined by a future Dekes BBQ restaurant.

We recently toured the future space with owners Todd and Laura Lacy as well as head brewer Bogdan Lisachenko.

As was explained to us, the story behind Attic Brewing dates back to 2010 when Todd and Laura began home brewing in their attic apartment in the neighborhood in which the brewery will open; Germantown. Fast forward almost a decade later and the 6,000 square feet, 10 barrel brewery is becoming a reality.

The team is joined by Bogdan Lisachenko who will operate as the companies head brewer. With a resume that includes Troegs, Forest And Main and Head of Mixed Fermentation at ever popular Trillium Brewing, Bogdan is sure to produce beers that Philadelphia can be proud of.

The brewing operation will sit in a lower part of the building looking out onto the street. Attic intends to keep the historic look and feel of the space while making it one of the areas exciting new locations. Once open the brewery will operate 14 taps of rotating beer while offering a variety of styles.Take a look inside from our visit:

Producing delicious craft beer won’t be the only goal coming from Attic Brewing. As they share on their website “besides our passion for beer, we have a passion for the great outdoors and believe it is our responsibility to leave a minimal footprint on our already fragile earth.  Our business model includes implementing greener practices to reduce harmful waste that effect the environment.  For example; you will never see us serving out of plastic ware, we will use re-purposed materials in the taproom, and our spent grains will be donated to local farms, bakeries, and gardens.”

The brewery is getting closer to opening every day. To stay up to date on their progress make sure to follow them at their website, Facebook and Instagram.
