IBU: 41.7

ABV: 6.3%

Hops: Simcoe, Citra, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, and Centennial

Not one full month into operation, Urban Village Brewing Company made headlines in Philadelphia when a U-Haul truck traveling the wrong way on 2nd Street came crashing into the Northern Liberties brewpub.  When you grab a can of Wrong Way, you’ll notice a familiar font, as this beer’s namesake comes from this unfortunate event; a true Philadelphian way of brushing off a mishap.

When you crack open a can of this juicy New England Style IPA, you’ll find a hazy orange beer with a decent amount of head.  The beer’s aromas of lime, tropical melon and grapefruit from the use of Simcoe, Citra, Galaxy, Centennial and Nelson Sauvin hops in both the kettle and dry hopping stages boast from the glass.  Each sip features a soft mouthfeel thanks to the oats used in this juicy ipa.  Flavors of grapefruit, lychee, melon and passionfruit are present with each sip, followed by a nice dry finish.

Wrong Way is the first ever can release by Urban Village Brewing Company, who plan on continuing with monthly can releases in 2018.  This release also ends a 31-year period where no beer cans were produced at 2nd & Germantown when the former Christian Schmidt Brewery closed in 1987.  We’re thankful that they’re continuing the tradition at this historic site and look forward to the beers to come!

Stay tuned for more from Urban Village Brewing Company!
