Wet Dreamin’ is a wet hopped American pale ale with 5.6% ABV from Manayunk’s own Manayunk Brewing Co. Most IPAs, and beers in general are made using dry hops in their pellet form whereas fresh or wet hopped beers like this one use fresh, unprocessed hops straight from the plant.
This ale pours to a vibrant golden color with little to no haziness, light gloriously shines through, while a sizable, pillowy white head quickly dissolves from atop this brew. The aroma is fresh and grassy, similar to walking through a field or garden in the springtime and diving face first into a pile of fresh picked hops.
The Nugget, Cascade and Columbus hops picked from a mixture of New Jersey and Pennsylvania farms produce a definitively grassy flavor with some flowery and piny notes to accent. Wet Dreamin’ is also quite bitter in that traditional IPA way with a thick flavor that lingers deeply between sips despite boasting only a modest 55 IBUs.
