Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale from Yards Brewing Company

Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale is a 8% ABV/28 IBU golden ale brewed by Yards Brewing Company out of Philadelphia PA. As one of the year-round Yards “Ales of the Revolution”, Tavern Ale is brewed just like Founding Father and brewer Thomas Jefferson would have made. Tom Kehoe, Yards brewmaster, worked with the historic City Tavern to create this ale, try it alongside some roast duck or pork chops!

Pouring to a clear gold/copper color, you will get a pretty thick off-white head in your glass with some lacing.

Immediately you’ll notice smells of malt and rye with some earthy floral hops and some honey as well. Tasting brings a mild hop bitterness with a malt sweetness to match. Flavors of malt, honey, floral hops and some bread with a slight hint of caramel. Moderately carbonated, toull get a crisp finish and notice how refreshing TJ Tavern Ale is.

Available on draft, in sixpacks, and in the “Ales of the Revolution” mixed case, there are plenty of ways to go try this!
