Tarte Nouveau from Weyerbacher Brewing Co.

Tarte Nouveau Session Sour from Weyerbacher Brewing Company is an American Wild Ale with 3.9% ABV. This sour pours to an orange tinged yellow with a very light orange aroma that is only noticed once it’s right under your nose. A fizzy head is noticeable that soon gives way without much lacing. Living up to its designation as a sour there’s a big sour bite up front of fresh lemon and candied orange. Some caramel sweetness is there, but largely goes unnoticed and doesn’t so much balance the beer out as it gives it just a little something extra. Originally made as the experimental offering called Zulu made to lactobacillus, Tarte Nouveau is its refined version. A staple available year round this perfect for sour lovers and those who want to try a sour to see what they’re all about.
