Summer. A time when the temperature’s about 88, and we’re popping the water plug just for old time’s sake. Summer also brings out some refreshing seasonal beers.

Introducing the Summer Wheat Ale Saison by Yards Brewing.

The Philly based brewery gives a brief history on the Saison style by explaining how it was created for keeping farmhands hydrated during the warmer months.

Weighing in at 6.5% ABV with an IBU of 30; this light, crisp ale is loaded with hits of cloves and spice, reminiscent to the earlier days of brewing the Saison style. The Belgian yeast and grains of paradise used within the process create a beautiful golden blonde color that the eyes can’t resist. Styrian Goldings used within the kettle bulk up the body with a subtle hoppiness. Just enough to appreciate this classic style of beer, but also sustaining its sessions credit.

Thoughts of comfort and simplicity come to mind through each sip, but the most unique characteristic lies within the delicious notes of banana. The flavor of this beloved tropical fruit adds to the drinkability.

So if you’re either moving hay stacks or getting the lawn ready for a cornhole tournament, make sure to reward yourself with a refreshing Saison Summer Wheat Ale from Yards.
