R&D is a 6.8% ABV India Pale Ale from Funk Brewing (Emmaus/Elizabethtown). This NE Syle IPA is the first in the R&D series, a new series that allows Funk to test the limits of what they can brew! This first installment is brewed exclusively with Pacific Northwest hop Azacca.

R&D IPA CAN RELEASE This Saturday 9AM we are having a special can release exclusively at Shangy's. **12.50 a 4pk** ***400 cases available*** ****1 case per person**** This beer will not be sent out to 6pk shops or other spots where you normally see our beer R&D IPA: 6.8% ABV. As a product of the 80’s, the BMX bike symbolized freedom, creativity, and rebellion. That’s what this beer represents. It’s the first in our R&D series, our newest testing ground for bold brews that push the limits of brewing techniques old and new. Expect the unexpected This batch utilizes some of the pacific northwest most juiciest hops. Passionfruit, tart tangerines, and fresh cut grass. Again this only being sold at Shangy's. Be sure to check out their other billion brands of beer! Their new 6pk pack area is ridiculous. @emmausmainstreet #seeninemmaus #craftbeer #lvbrewersguild #drink610

Pouring to a hazy light orange m, you will get a half inch of thin white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of lacing will be  noticeable on your glass too.

Smells of juicy hops (grapefruit, guava, orange citrus) are very noticeable on the nose.

Tasting brings a not overly hoppy, yet quite juicy and enjoyable NE style IPA. On first sips you get melon, grapefruit, and juicy citrus, finishing with a nice grapefuit bitter flavor. You’ll notice a slight malt backbone but those flavors weren’t overpowering to us. This brew is moderately carbonated with a medium body, making the mouthfeel juicy and creamy.

This brew was canned and distributed to many accounts, so go and find this start to an awesome series from Funk!
