Passion Fruit Daydreamin’ is a Session IPA with 4.1% ABV brewed with passion fruit from Manayunk Brewing Co. out of Philadelphia, PA. The long running fruit infused session Daydreamin’ series has produced excellent grapefruit and mango variants in years past.
Right out of the can the tropical aroma present themselves with passion fruit, mango and pineapple all flowing from this gold tinted session. Freshly poured there’s a bright white head that slowly dissolves without much lacing being left on the glass.
Brewed with a combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus hops the flavor is definitely hop forward without much bite. Some of the tropical, juicy fruit flavors do come through in a more subtle way than the aroma may indicate. This leads to a finish that is nice and refreshing, a medium body leaves only a hint of hoppiness on the tongue, but nothing that will corrupt a palette.
For years Manayunk has been able to put out a huge variety of pale ales ranging in flavor profile and ABV, while maintaining a strong level of quality in all of them. Passion Fruit Daydreamin’ is no different, it’s a welcome addition that is perfect for drinking in the warmer spring and summer months.
