Modern Muse is a 5% ABV/38 IBU American IPA from Vault Brewing Company (Yardley, PA). This easy drinking IPA was brewed with a mix of pilsner and pale malts, and fermented with a Kolsch yeast strain. It was then heavily hopped with Waimea (from New Zealand) and Simcoe (US).
Pouring to a slightly hazy and dark orange color, you will see a bold bright white head form at the top of your glass. Aromas of dank fruits, grapefruit, peach, with some sugar and honey noticeable on the nose.
Tasting this IPA brings a lot of dank floral notes while balancing some sweetness from those malts. You will notice flavors of the dank floral hops up front with some apricot and guava, paving way for the sugary sweet fruit/honey notes on the backend. Light to medium in body, this brew is not that dry to the taste, and some might call it “sessionable”. It’s perfect for a hot summer afternoon relaxing outside.
