Merica is the first in the Hopfoolery Series from Hijinx Brewing Company (Allentown, PA). This beer is brewed and double dry hopped exclusively with American Hop varieties. Officially listed as Hopfoolery Series #1, Merica is a double IPA that comes in at 8.8% ABV.
Pouring to a deep amber color in our Dank & Juicy glass from I Prefer Craft Beer you’ll notice a foamy white head in your glass. The nose on this beer is all tropical fruits, with a hint of some malt there as well. Tasting Merica brings flavors of fruit you would expect (orange, mango, grapefruit), with some biscuit malt as well. With a medium mouthfeel and moderate carbonation, it’s hard to believe this beer is 8.8%!
