Locked In The Trunk from Levante Brewing Co.

Locked In The Trunk was the first can to be released from Levante Brewing Co. (West Chester, PA), and we had the pleasure of attending the release which saw hundreds waiting in line to grab themselves as much as a case of this brew.

Brewed with Citra hops, this unfiltered IPA was canned just 3 hours after it was finished in the brite tank, leaving it ultra fresh.

At 7% ABV and 58 IBUs, Locked In The Trunk is dual dry-hopped: during and after primary fermentation. The malts are simple, with two-row pale malt and some speciality adjuncts for body and head retention being added. The yeast is Levante’s very own house IPA strain.

This ale pours to a glowing wheat color with a dense, foamy white head that slowly dissolves into its base. An aroma of citrus wafts delightfully after pouring and leads nice into this hop forward beer. There is a distinct juicy citrus flavor to go along with an appropriate, but not excessive hoppy bitterness.

Levante’s offering here is a clear demonstration of the modern IPA, juicy, thoroughly hopped and a freshness you can taste. This is a must add to all beer lovers ISO (in search of) lists.
