Little Rain, Lots of Brews & Chews: KOP Beerfest Royale

Cloudy skies and a misting rain were never going to be enough to stop the KOP Beerfest Royale from being a major success. Thursday’s Donnerstag Happy Hour as well as both Saturday sessions proved to be sold out events with beer lovers from all over descending upon King of Prussia Mall in King of Prusssia, PA. Taking place under a number of tents with space in between for a little bit of bag toss and a designated drivers tent where bottles of water were available.

The Donnerstag Happy Hour was a bit different then you’re traditional beerfest as those attending were treated to a number of food tables serving delicious bite size treats from Shake Shack, Maggianos Little Italy, B. Good and Sullivan’s Steakhouse among many other local restaurants and eateries. Taking place in the mall’s rear parking lot allowed for the numerous local restaurants all to take part in serving patrons.

Of course in addition to the complimentary food there was still plenty of beer from dozens of breweries, with a large emphasis on breweries in Pennsylvania. The smaller, more intimate setting allowed for those in attendance to enjoy pours from the owners of Stable 12, Evil Genius and Levante, among others. Fun, upbeat live music, tasty food and plenty of beer to go around meant for laughing groups of people thoroughly enjoying themselves from the start to the very end of the night’s event.

Thursday’s beautiful weather gave way to a damper weather affair, that did not damper spirits however. Intermittent rain did not stop people from arriving in droves to sample a wide variety of both foreign and domestic beers. While there was still food for sale in the form of Tony Luke’s steak sandwiches and Shake Shack burgers, a large amount of Thursday’s food space was converted to additional beer space.

Processed with Snapseed.

Never a bad thing the extra space allowed for even more breweries from both Pennsylvania as well as other nationwide breweries to go along with numerous international beers from Schofferhofer and Hofbrauhaus. Overall, the open entrance ways made access to the event extremely easy, the tented setup made dodging raindrops no problem and all pourers were friendly and knowledgable.
