History

Released in in Yakima, WA in 2000, Simcoe is a dual purpose hop. It is used for its bittering abilities and also its aromatic qualities.

Profile

Alpha acid levels: 11.5 – 15%
Beta acid: 3 – 4.5%

Used mostly in:

  • India Pale Ales
  • Double India Pale Ales
  • Amber Ales
  • Brown Ales
  • Saisons

Flavors: Pine, wood, musky, citrus
