Jam & Mosaic Jam from Dancing Gnome Brewery

Jam is an American-style pale ale with 6.8% ABV from Dancing Gnome Brewery in Pittsburgh, PA. Mosaic Jam offers a similar styled pale that keeps the same ABV, but this time dry hops the brew with a nice heaping helping of Mosaic hops.

Both pour to an appealing, soft cloudy yellow-orange tone that is very reminiscent of pineapple juice. A dense, cloud-like white head slowly dissolves leaving plenty of lacing on the glass behind it while a mixture of tropical fruit and moderate grassy smells.

Traditional Jam begins with a juice forward flavor as the mango and pineapple come through in a big way, it’s super fresh tasting and immediately sends your tastebuds into full on party mode. The same can be said for Mosaic, albeit there’s a bit more floral essence and “dankness” to go with all of that lovely, juicy fruit.

The finish has just the right amount of hoppy bite to it, with perhaps the Mosaic offering only the slightest bit of extra hoppy bitterness that rounds this brew out. Whether you’re sampling Jam or Mosaic Jam, it’s hard to go wrong as each are full-bodied pale ales that
