Hop-Lace is a White IPA with 6.2% ABV from Rivertowne Brewing Company and is offered as a spring seasonal in both 12 oz. cans and on tap. A White IPA is essentially the combination of the traditional Belgian Witbier with its cloudy, orange spiced ale notes and the classic IPA with its strong, bitter hop profile.

Pouring to a hazy orange color there are aromatic notes of coriander, banana, citrus, particularly orange and a slight floral background. Brewed with Amarillo and Citra there’s an initial spiced malt flavor alongside strong notes of citrus.

There is substantial bitterness from this robustly hopped beer and the high alpha content of the Citra. West Coast IPA fans will thoroughly appreciate the lingering bitter flavor, while there’s still enough spice and citrus flavor that traditional witbier lovers shouldn’t be scared off.
