Hop Bottom from Nimble Hill Brewing Company

Hop Bottom is a 7% ABV/75 IBU IPA from Nimble Hill Brewing Company (Tunkhannock, PA). This beer is brewed with an intense amount of cascade, centennial, cluster, mosaic, simcoe, and citra hops. With a smooth bitterness, this brew is balanced with crystal malts. The name Hop Bottom comes from a small town a few miles from the brewery, which is known for their history of hop growing!

Pouring to a slightly cloudy dark orange, you’ll get a solid white head in your glass. Strong aromas of those pleasant fruity citrus hops are noticeable, as well as a little malt.

Tasting Hop Bottom brings flavors of those citrus hops, but you’re thinking it’s going to be overpowering with bitterness, it’s not! Well balanced between the hops and the crystal malt, you’ll also notice grapefruit and some biscuit malt flavors. This brew is a medium body and really finishes well, without that hoppy aftertaste you might assume.
