Full City Coffee Stout from Vault Brewing Company

Full City Coffee Stout is the latest in a string of great can releases from Vault Brewing Company. At 5% ABV, this stout is the little brother to Vault’s Russian Imperial Stout.

They used a blend of Pale, Crystal, Roasted and Toasted malts along with just a touch of Flaked Barley, lactose, and then fermented with an English yeast. Full City was conditioned on Pretty Bird Roastery coffee (Vault’s new coffee company) which was sourced from El Salvador, and left to soak for 24 hours.

Pouring to a dark brown/mahogany color, the nitro hard pour should get you a significant amount of creamy tan head in your glass. Lacing was minimal on this stout.

Aromas of dry, lightly roasted coffee is very apparent on the nose, as well as some caramel, chocolate syrup, and hazelnut. Tastes of light cold brewed coffee, maple syrup, hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate syrup, and some graham cracker were noticeable first. This stout finishes with creamy chocolate notes with a hint of roasty bitter flavors.

This coffee stout was packaged in the new 16oz nitrogen cans for a truly unique pouring and drinking experience! As of this posting (7/17/17) there were still cans left at the brewery.
