Celestial Shore From Cinderlands Beer Co. (Their First Can Release!)

Celestial Shore is the first ever can release from Cinderlands Beer Co. (Pittsbugh, PA). One of the areas most exciting new breweries (see our brewery review here) we were looking forward to see what they would come up with.

This “tartshake IPA” (as they call it) is brewed with peaches, lactose, vanilla beans, and Citra and Amarillo hops. This is Cinderlands take on the ever growing and popular milkshake IPA style with a tart/sour twist.

The subtle tartness paired with the milkshake IPA style blend two worlds into one for a  unique drinking experience. Offering the drinker a luscious, creamy mouthfeel the sweetness provides a long delicious finish alternating between the vanilla and  peaches.

Cinderlands recommends you pair this food with high intensity food such as lamb, short ribs and other hearty meats.

Directly from the brewer, Paul Schneider, regarding this beer:

“I learned a few things from making and drinking Stray Radiant, our sour, hazy strawberry IPA beer, and decided to soften any rough edges by omitting hot-side hops entirely and slightly reducing the acidity, and to supplement the body and mouthfeel with an even higher mash temperature and the addition of raw wheat. The result is a peaches-and-cream, Bellini, cobbler-esque beverage that marries the mango, tangerine, and apricot flavors of Citra and Amarillo hops with a nearly ridiculous amount of peach puree added during fermentation.”

The first release from Cinderlands was quite the tasting experience. We are looking forward to where canning takes them in the future.
