Bunny Farm from Bonn Place Brewing Co.

Bunny Farm is an 8.4% double American pale ale from Bonn Place Brewing Co. in Bethlehem, PA. Sampled straight from the brite tank, then the tap and finally from a growler, it doesn’t matter how you try this ale, just find a way to get you some while it lasts.

Poured straight into the glass this DIPA is gorgeous, with its bright orange color and dense haze creating a creamy, juice-like appearance. The aroma is massively fruity, with lighter notes or lemon sitting next to a delightful punch of orange zest and fresh squeezed juice.

This scent perfectly leads into its juice forward flavor. Not all hops are created equally and this pale ale serves to show that a brew can pick up a hop’s notes, citrus in this case, without much of the bitterness found in other ales. Brewed with a blend of Citra and about 3-4 other hop strains this beer’s got depth.

Bonn Place already features a thoroughly rounded out tap list that explores all styles and palettes, but it’s seeing juicy IPA’s like Bunny Farm that mean they must be mentioned next to some of PA’s elite like Hidden River and Lehigh Valley-mates, Sole.
