Brewery Review: Cinderlands Beer Company (Pittsburgh, PA)

As we have written before there are a number of Pennsylvania craft breweries that are changing the American dining experience, and you can count on Cinderlands as one of those locations.

Located on Butler Street in Pittsburgh, Cinderlands has only been open since December 2nd, 2017 but that hasn’t stopped their brewery from making their mark on the Pittsburgh beer landscape! We recently visited them and met with owner Jamie Warden to learn more about their operations, and all we can say is you are in for a treat.

Cinderlands is not only a great location to drink some of the freshest craft beer in the area, but as we mentioned earlier, they provide an overall dining experience. We continue to say that craft breweries are replacing the big brand restaurants to offer their local community a dining experience that all can enjoy.

You won’t find panini presses or microwaves here. Instead their food is made fresh, by hand and right in front of your eyes. While it is easy for a brewery to get lost in the beer, Cinderlands dedicates their offerings to so much more. Their creative menu includes Spent Grain Chicharrones, Scotch Egg, Octopus, a Fried Chicken Sandwich and so much more!

Do you want to see how creative they get? We sat at the bar and watched our food get made first hand. See for yourself:

During our visit we enjoyed the Fried Chicken Sandwich:

And finished it with their version of home made “pop tarts”:

We got just a small taste of what their menu has to offer. But with 12 hand crafted items, all made right in front of you, we highly suggest you see the menu for yourself.

But now onto what you are here for; the beer!

While the Cinderlands food menu will blow you away, of course you have to try the beer. With a constantly rotating tap, Cinderlands will always have something for all tastes. Rather than the IPA Heavy route that most craft breweries will go, they offer a wide variety of styles, including:

• Coffee Witbier
• Berliner Weisse
• Kölsch
• NE IPA
• Double IPA
• Berry Milk Stout

And while they have only been open for a few months, you can now take their beer with you to go!

The Cinderlands restaurant and brewery is the perfect location to plan your next dinner out in Pittsburgh. With two floors, plenty of seating, and a scratch kitchen as the main focal point, we can’t think of a better place for your next meal. Not hungry? That’s OK too! Give one of their many delicious beer offerings a try.

While the kitchen will amaze you as you see the chefs bring their creations to life, if you get a chance you should check out the brewing operations as well. You will be surprised to know all of that flavor is coming from right below your feet!

Jamie took us down to their basement where all their delicious beer is crafted. See more of the brewery:

With so much going on at Cinderlands it is a no brainer that you should get yourself there immediately. You’ll be amazed by all the hand crafting going on behind the bar while getting lost in flavor as you enjoy the many different beer offerings. As we said, a location like Cinderlands is changing the American dining experience, for the better!

Keep up with them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and their website to watch their growth. And next time you’re in town, stop in and experience the excitement first hand!
