Twisted Bine Beer Company is the latest brewery scheduled to open in Central PA. Recently we got a chance to tour and learn more about this 14,000 square foot location on 93 E Main St in Mount Joy, PA that is scheduled to open this summer. Twisted Bine is the brainchild of owners and married couple Jamie and Susan Lowell.
During our visit we toured the brewery with Jamie as well as the two brewers joining the Lowell’s in this venture; brother-in-laws Greg Gillette and Tom Weber. Both Greg and Tom have over 10 years home brewing experience each!
An idea that is 3 years in the making, Twisted Bine plans to open with the community in mind. After discussing their plans with them it was clear that the brewery will operate with the fact that a business can only be successful if it is embraced by the people it serves. As a result you can expect Twisted Bine to be customer focused in everything they do.
Originally built in the 1880’s as a hotel, the building burned down and was rebuilt in 1923. Prior to being the areas next craft brewery, this location was once a consignment shop, furniture store, hardware store and more. If they let you, check out the old world freight elevator down stairs. Some things you can only appreciate first hand.
The building hosts a very large and spacious taproom. With plenty of room to spend hours enjoying time with friends and family. A 2nd floor is also in the building. This floor will not be available to guests immediately however the long term plan is to open this space to the public. Outdoor seating will also be available immediately outside of the taproom.

As we said the 2nd floor will not immediately be open to the public. However once they do open this floor there will be plenty of room for activities.

The brewery will boast a 7 barrel system with 8 beers on tap initially, plus a wine on tap as well. There will also be cocktails available to provide a variety of offerings. Their plan is to brew all different styles however they will at least have a stout and lager or pilsner on tap all year round; along with many other rotating taps. The beer will pour right from the brite tanks…. so you know it will be fresh!

Along with brewing delicious, fresh beer Twisted Bine will also offer a full kitchen with a pub style menu. They will serve burgers, upscale sandwiches, snacks and so much more! The kitchen is still being built, but let’s just say there will be plenty of space to bring you mouth watering food.
Twisted Bine has a lot going on in their Mount Joy brewery. And the expectation is for them to be open this summer. So you can expect construction to wrap up very soon and their grand opening will be here before you know it.
