5Cs is a 6.4% ABV/68 IBU American IPA from Vault Brewing Company (Yardley, PA). Brewed with Pale malts and American yeast, this IPA is hopped generously with Cascade, Centennial, Citra, Columbus, and Chinook.
Pouring to a slightly hazy orange/gold, you'll get a small head in your glass. You will notice a small amount of lacing on your glass as well. Aromas of pine, citrus, tropical fruits (grapefruit and some mango), bready malts, and some slight caramel malts will hit your nose.
Tasting 5Cs brings those notes of hop dankness and grassy undertones, which you would expect from the 5 hops in this beer. We also noticed tangerine, slight creamsicle (as Vault describes it), lemon zest, and caramel. You will notice the dank tropical hops up front then some light bitterness at the backend.
With a medium body, 5Cs is a solid juicy IPA that's moderately carbonated. This is a very approachable beer that's not too hoppy or bitter, with a lower ABV. Go grab this at the brewery, you won't be disappointed!
