21st Birthday IPA from Victory Brewing is a 6.1% ABV/70 IBU American IPA. For their 2017 anniversary brew, Victory brewed with all fresh hops they saw while in Yakima. Chinook, Centennial, and Mosaic (all picked fresh in 2016) were used, as well as Pilsner and Carapils malts.
Pouring to a straw/light gold color with a fluffy white head that lingers, 21st Birthday gives off aromas of pine, grapefruit, lemongrass, pineapple, and orange. You will notice a slight haze once this is poured as well.
Tasting brings out all those tropical fruit flavors you would expect from the fresh hops used. You will notice the piney/earthy notes as well, with a clear malt presence. This brew has a crisp finish, and given the low ABV, one might say this is sessionable.
Overall, this beer is light and crisp, and hoppy enough to satisfy all the IPA lovers. With its medium body and just the right amount of carbonation, have a few of these and you wont be disappointed.
